Where these questions come from
  • Virtuous and Fundraising.AI, 2026 Nonprofit AI Adoption Report (346 nonprofits): about one in five have governance, measurement and documentation all in place, and four in a hundred have documented, repeatable AI workflows. Questions 1 to 3, 7, 8 and 14 track those three foundations.
  • NTEN and Bridgespan, State of Nonprofit AI Adoption and Governance 2026 (404 executives answered this question): four in ten said their organisation had rules on what data may go into AI tools, and a third were writing them. Question 6 follows it.
  • NetHope, Digital Nonprofit AI Readiness (974 respondents, February 2026): six dimensions, with resources and skilling lagging behind technology and data. Our five pillars fold those six into what a leader can act on without a consultant.
  • Our own work: questions 4, 5 and 9 to 13 cover the owner, trust in the numbers and the workspace, which is where we have watched most of the setup cost land, including in our own companies. The one-file test is ours.
